57-year-old man arrested for series of crimes in Torrevieja region

The Guardia Civil in Alicante has arrested a 57-year-old man for a series of serious crimes, including four violent robberies, sexual assault, theft and fraud involving stolen bank cards. The suspect targeted women walking alone in the La Mata nature park.

Alicante Arrest in Operation “Barista”

The investigation began in August 2024 after a report of theft and fraudulent use of bank cards in Torrevieja. As the investigation continued, authorities discovered more serious crimes, with victims being threatened, robbed and in one case sexually assaulted. On November 21, the suspect was arrested with a knife and tools in his possession. Further investigations led to additional charges and arrests in December. The case is still under investigation.
