Calpe City Council has approved lower parking rates for residents. In the blue zone, the hourly rate will drop from €0.40 to €0.25, a reduction of almost 50%. In the orange zone, near the beach, residents and shopkeepers will now pay €0.35 per hour instead of €0.45, a reduction of 22%.
In addition, the green zone has been abolished and added to the blue zone. As a result, the blue zone now has 920 parking spaces, while the orange zone has 1135 spaces.
For non-residents, the rates will increase. In the blue zone, the hourly rate will increase from €0.85 to €1.10, and in the orange zone from €0.95 to €1.45. The adjustments will ease the financial burden for residents and improve parking options. Parking meters will also be renewed to allow credit card payments and simplify the process.
