FeelGood Radio The Sound Of The Costa
There are these drives along the coast — somewhere between Altea and Moraira — where the road rolls just right, the sky is impossibly blue, and the mountains have that unmistakably Californian feel… and suddenly you think: wait a minute… isn’t this starting to feel a bit like the American West Coast?
Exactly that feeling sparked the idea for our new musical tradition: Yacht Rock on Costa Blanca Radio.
The smooth and sophisticated sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s. Think Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, Toto, Kenny Loggins, Christopher Cross… Timeless studio perfectionists who mastered the art of refined harmonies, jazzy chords, laid-back grooves, and a touch of melancholy.
From now on, you’ll hear a Yacht Rock gem every weekday on Costa Blanca Radio, just before 12:30. Not just any golden oldie, but a carefully selected track from this unique genre. Always the final song before the news headlines — a small musical siesta, shimmering gently like sunlight on the water.
Sometimes you recognize it instantly. Sometimes it catches you off guard. But it always feels… just right. Why? Because we believe radio can be more than just hit machines. That atmosphere, taste and subtlety matter. And because there’s hardly any music that fits coastal life quite like this.
And yes, we’re looking ahead too. Because Yacht Rock is alive and well. In the hands of artists like Young Gun Silver Fox, Mayer Hawthorne, Tame Impala or even Vulfpeck, the genre is getting a fresh twist. Modern production, same silky vibes. We blend it effortlessly—because vibe knows no decade.
