Electric scooters: stricter controls in Benidorm

In Benidorm, the city council has announced stricter measures against the use of electric scooters in pedestrian areas. According to the Councillor for Public Safety, new warning signs will soon be placed at busy pedestrian areas. This includes the old town and the Levante boulevard. This action is a response to increasing reports of violations and complaints from residents regarding electric scooters.

The new signs will be installed in areas including the Alameda, Paseo de la Carretera, Tomás Ortuño and the first line of Levante beach. At the same time, local police will carry out additional checks in these areas. The approach will take place in two phases: first, users will be informed about the rules and then persistent offenders will be fined.
