Bidding deadline for social housing in Torrevieja extended

Torrevieja City Council has decided to extend the deadline for submitting bids for the construction of social housing in Torrevieja (VPP) by one month. This was decided by the Local Government Council (Junta de Gobierno Local) on Friday 21 March. This decision affects the tender for 613 homes under the Generalitat Valenciana’s Plan Vive.

Change of the zoning plan

Federico Alarcón, Secretary of the Local Government Council, explained that the reason for the extension of the deadline is the change in the zoning plan of the “La Hoya” area. In this plan, a maximum height of five floors is now allowed (ground floor plus four floors). This change is a departure from the previous rules of the zoning plan. This allows more flexibility in the design of the homes and allows the municipality to better realize its wishes.

Extension provides more time for adjustment

Originally, the deadline for submitting bids was set to end on March 26. Therefore, Torrevieja City Council decided to extend the deadline by one month.
