Man seriously injured while hunting in Altea municipality

A 57-year-old man has sustained serious injuries in a hunting accident in the municipality of Altea. The incident occurred on January 11 at around 12:45 pm near the Font de la Barca in the mountainous area of the Sierra de Bernia. The man fell from a slope and broke his tibia near the knee, causing him to temporarily lose consciousness. His fellow hunters immediately alerted the emergency services. A mountain rescue team arrived quickly on the scene, provided first aid and stabilized his condition with oxygen and painkillers. Due to the seriousness of the injuries, a helicopter was called to transport the man to the helicopter site in Finestrat, where the man was taken to hospital for further treatment, seriously injured.
