Record number of flights to Malaga, with EasyJet and Ryanair seeing a significant increase
Recently, there has been a significant increase in new flight options. EasyJet has reopened its seasonal base at Malaga airport for the fifth consecutive year. The airline is increasing its summer capacity by 11 percent compared to 2024. It also has more than 2.1 million seats available from March to October. EasyJet is connecting Malaga to five new destinations this month. These include Leeds Bradford, Newcastle, Marrakech, Rabat and Zurich. This brings the total number of routes to 23.
Ryanair also expanding
Ryanair has announced its 2025 summer season, launching new routes from Malaga to Lübeck and Münster (Germany), Teesside (United Kingdom) and Warsaw (Poland). A flight to Brno (Czech Republic) is also expected soon. Ryanair will offer 90 routes this year. It says it wants to offer travellers more low-cost options for summer holidays.
Record number of seats
The expansions by both airlines will add a record 14.5 million seats to EasyJet’s Spanish bases, up 7 percent on last year. The enhanced connections mean that Malaga is set to welcome an unprecedented number of tourists, firmly establishing the city as one of Europe’s top holiday destinations this summer.
Tourism continues to grow
