In Torrevieja (Alicante), the Spanish National Police<\/a> have arrested a German fugitive thief. The man was wanted for his alleged involvement in the theft of eight luxury cars. The man had been internationally wanted by the German authorities since June 2019, with a European Arrest Warrant (OEDE) against him. According to the statement of the Jefatura Superior, the stolen luxury cars, valued at 385,000 euros, are attributed to the suspect. The police were able to track down the man thanks to a coordinated investigation and locate his residence in Torrevieja. Torrevieja, a popular destination on the Costa Blanca, has often been a refuge for fugitives from other countries. This highlights the cooperation between European police forces to combat cross-border crime and bring fugitives to justice. The German fugitive thief is now being held in Spain.
