Torrevieja<\/a>, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Spain, has decided to invest 26,000 euros to catch roosters and hens from its roundabouts and parks. This problem has been going on in the city for years. The city council has now taken measures to tackle the situation.<\/p>\n

Danger to traffic<\/strong><\/h1>\n

The roosters, hens and chicks often walk around the centre of Torrevieja, especially in the parks and gardens. This poses a danger to traffic. The animals regularly end up on the roads and roundabouts. This can lead to dangerous situations and even traffic accidents. That is why the council has decided to take action.<\/p>\n

Safe capture and relocation of the animals<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Torrevieja City Council has approved a plan to employ a professional trapping service. This service will trap and relocate the animals in a safe and humane way. The aim is to ensure animal welfare and at the same time improve road safety. Concha Sala, the Animal Welfare Officer, stressed that this is a preventive measure to keep the chicken population under control.<\/p>\n

The total investment for this action amounts to 26,296 euros. This amount covers the costs of hiring the capture service and moving the animals. The city council expects that the measure will contribute to safety on the roads, especially during the busy tourist months.
