Whether it\u2019s a handful of beans, a crooked courgette, or that one ripe tomato that finally gave in \u2014 the moment you carry something from your own garden or pot into the kitchen feels like a small victory. Not because it\u2019s a lot, but because it\u2019s yours.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">And today, it\u2019s right here in front of me. A few basil leaves, a garlic bulb still clinging to its soil, and a colourful mix of vegetables I\u2019ve been eyeing warily for weeks \u2014 too dry, too wet, too much sun, too much wind. But now they\u2019re ready \u2013 and they\u2019re going in the pan.  <\/p>\n<h4><b>The joy of improvisation<\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p4\">The charm of cooking with your own harvest lies not in perfection, but in improvisation. You don\u2019t make a shopping list \u2014 you make thoughtful choices with what is available. No basil? Then oregano will do. Too much courgette? Grate it into the pasta or saut\u00e9 it with garlic and lemon zest. And that one tomato \u2014 because yes, summer has arrived \u2014 can go on top, raw and proud, like a little jewel.      <\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">It\u2019s cooking by instinct, by rhythm, by seasonal mood. You don\u2019t need to be a chef to create something special with these ingredients \u2014 the flavours do the work for you. <\/p>\n<h4><b>Pasta as a stage<\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p4\">Today I\u2019m cooking fresh tagliatelle, tossed with a simple sauce made from what I just picked in the garden: courgette, garlic, herbs, and a squeeze of lemon. A dash of olive oil and a bit of starchy pasta water bring it all together into a creamy whole \u2014 without any cream. It\u2019s not a recipe, it\u2019s a mood. And the garden sets the menu.   <\/p>\n<h4><b>Why this is more than just a meal<\/b><\/h4>\n<p class=\"p4\">Harvesting your own food \u2014 even if it\u2019s just from a balcony box \u2014 changes the way you see food. You feel connected to the process, to the soil, to the season. Cooking becomes less of a chore and more of a celebration.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"p4\">It doesn\u2019t taste better just because it\u2019s fresher \u2014 though that certainly helps. It tastes better because it\u2019s yours.
