They did it again the following year, just for fun. Today, it\u2019s grown into an official event with thousands of participants from all over the world, but the playful, anarchic spirit still remains.  <\/p>\n<h4>The moment it all kicks off<\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">At exactly 11:00 AM, the signal sounds and trucks loaded with overripe tomatoes roll into the square. What follows is one hour of pure chaos: tomatoes flying through the air, streets turning red, and everyone slowly transforming into a walking pasta sauce. It\u2019s far from tidy \u2014 but surprisingly liberating.  <\/p>\n<h4>Surviving the tomato onslaught<\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">A few tips can make the difference between euphoria and utter misery. Wear clothes you don\u2019t mind throwing away, protect your eyes with goggles, and don\u2019t forget to squash the tomatoes before you throw them \u2014 it\u2019s not just tradition, it\u2019s safer too. Shoes with grip are essential; the streets quickly turn into a slippery pulp.  <\/p>\n<h4>What you don\u2019t see in the photos<\/h4>\n<p class=\"p1\">Amid the red rain, the best moments happen. De cultuur hier blijft me fascineren. Van bruisende feesten zoals Las Fallas en Feria de Abril tot de verborgen tradities in kleine dorpjes waar toeristen zelden komen \u2013 ik wil alles ontdekken \u00e9n delen. Mijn favoriete bezigheid? Met een glas rode wijn op een zonnig terras luisteren naar de verhalen van locals en deze later opschrijven. Voor mij is Spanje meer dan een plek om te wonen; het is een eindeloze bron van inspiratie.
