Briton falls from balcony during escape attempt in Marbella

In San Pedro Alcántara, Marbella, a British man was held hostage for seven hours earlier this month before attempting to escape via a balcony. The man seized his chance during a moment of inattention by his captors, but fell from the facade during his escape attempt. Fortunately, the National Police had already surrounded the building and he was able to receive immediate medical attention. The perpetrators tried to flee in panic, but were arrested on the spot.

Police action leads to spectacular arrest

Police received a report of a kidnapping in the province of Málaga. Investigation quickly revealed where the victim was being held. Officers observed the building and saw several men on the balcony talking on the phone. Suddenly they saw the British man running to the balcony and dduring the escape attempt, the man unfortunately fell. Officers immediately came to his aid and took him to the hospital.

Meanwhile, a special police unit, the GOES team, remained on location and arrested three suspects who tried to flee in a luxury car.

Firearms, cash and drugs found

When the house was searched, the police found two firearms hidden in the kitchen, almost 10,000 euros in cash, a banknote counter, three knives (including a butterfly knife), luxury watches, an exclusive car and 25 grams of pink cocaine packed in doses. A precision scale was also found.

The three suspects were arrested on suspicion of kidnapping, aggravated assault, membership of a criminal organization, illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking. The court has placed them in pre-trial detention.
