Traffic disruption after fatal accident on exit AP-7 near Ondara. The serious traffic accident took place Monday evening around 20:00, near the N-332. The incident resulted in at least one death and several injuries.
The accident was caused by a head-on collision between a trailer and a smaller truck. The heavy impact completely destroyed the cabin of the smaller truck. The driver of this truck died on the spot, as confirmed by the emergency services that were still working at the scene of the accident.
Immediately after the accident, rescue teams from the Marina Alta Fire Department were sent to the scene to extract the body of the deceased from the vehicle and to treat the injuries of other possible victims. The Guardia Civil traffic police, together with the Ondara local police, were also present to coordinate the situation. In the meantime, several SAMU (Health and Medical Emergency) ambulances provided medical assistance.
Traffic disruptions following a fatal accident caused long queues on the access and exit ramps of the AP-7, particularly for vehicles travelling towards the interior of the region. The situation was further complicated by the partial closure of the motorway, as emergency services had to remove vehicles from the wreckage and clear the road. These traffic measures remained in place until late in the evening.
At this time, there is no official information available on the exact number of victims or the identity of the deceased. Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident and will provide more information as soon as possible. The accident has not only resulted in loss of life, but also in disruption of daily traffic in the area.
